i've got a feeling;; i'm not the only one.
A gasp of oxygen was taken into her lungs as Amy resurfaced from the aquamarine sea. A wave of salt washed over her head as she came up, knocking her dirty blonde hair over her face. She went under again, and came up pouting, swimming toward shore while trying to bring her hair back again. Her brown eyes searched the shore as she swam, for anybody or anything. Her stupid parents had left the house and now there was nothing to do. She'd figured she'd go back and find the interesting thing she'd found under the ocean waves the other day, but she'd been swimming for hours and no such luck. Whatever it was would have to lay there for another year or two, undiscovered.
She dragged herself up to the shore, tired calf muscles aching as she flopped herself down on a towel, letting the sun soak up the water as she lay there, still breathing hard from the long swim. Apparently however, in her exhaustion, she had failed to realize she was sitting right next to somebody else, and she'd just sat on their sunglasses or something judging by the audible crack she'd heard when she laid down. A sigh came from her lips as she sat up, looking over to see who it was. She didn't recognize them. 'Uhh... sorry, didn't see you there.' She blushed, moving her towel over to see the broken object lying on the ground. 'I'll, uh... pay for those.' What's with all the uh's today, huh Amy? There's got to be some explanation...

Matthew let out a soft sigh as his shoes met the soft sand. He looked down at the sand as he took step by step. He stopped, looking out into the ocean. He bended down to the ground, taking his left shoe off, dropping it onto the ground. He moved onto the next shoe, but this time, he left it in his hand. He picked up the shoe he just left on the ground, looking back up into the ocean. He started walking to a comfortable area.
He reached a soft, blank area with nobody around it except a towel. He looked around the beach, trying to figure out who it belonged to. He shrugged slightly once he didn't see anymore that seemed to own the towel. He dropped his things in the sand, laying his light blue towel on the ground evenly. He plopped onto the towel, taking his sunglasses of his flawless face. He put them not on his towel, but the crack between his towel and the towel that was next to his. He didn't mind.
He saw a girl coming up toward the towel that did not belong to him. He didn't really seem to notice her though considering he was gazing out into the ocean. It was such a beautiful day. Then he heard a voice. He looked at the girl next to him. "It's cool..." he said, his voice trailing off once he saw the cracked glasses. He regretted putting them on the ground. His mother had given them to him once he left home. He tried to not show his anger, he was good at things like that.
She was going to pay for them? Well that seemed correct, and Matthew did want her to pay for them. What was he going to say? "Okay." Okay?! That was probably the most stupid response ever, but what else could he say? She did break them...

An eyebrow raised, looking up at him from the sunglasses for a second as he replied. 'Okay?' She smirked, but it wasn't mocking. More like 'I expected more than that.' She shook it off with a smirk and continued examining them before sitting down, making sure she wasn't going to squish something this time. 'How much did they cost?' She finally said, handing them back to him, sitting there, drawing stuff in the sand. She was a very shy girl, and didn't have much luck talking to people. 'And don't try telling me they cost two-hundred dollars or something.' She smiled quickly, eyes darting up to look at him before looking back down at the sand calmly. 'Because even if they did, I couldn't pay for that.' She sighed. It was true. Working at a fast-food restraunt can only earn a girl so much, and she wasn't about to be a prostitute like some people desperate for money were.
'I'm Amy Martin, here to possibly end up breaking all your posessions in a day.' She grinned as she introduced herself. 'And I really am sorry about breaking those.' She said, running her fingers through her hair, trying to sound sincere. He was actually really cute, but hey, so were a lot of other guys. She couldn't just start liking a complete stranger. Especially after she'd sat on his sunglasses. That was a stupid mistake in the first place. Her hair was drenching wet, and so was her swimsuit, just like most of the other people down the beach, but he was still dry, so he probably didn't appreciate a dripping girl coming over and messing up his day anyway. Meeting strangers never worked out all that well for Amy. Even in a place like this.
